She/ Her/ Hers
TLDR (too long didn’t read)
My worldview and theoretical approach is rooted in an anti-oppressive, systemic framework that is trauma informed, collaborative, and holistic. I specialize in working with all relationships, eating disorders, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, religious abuse and deconstruction, and issues related to sexuality and gender.
What To Expect
Sessions with me tend to have a bit of laughter, an occasional cathartic ugly cry, and a lot of really vulnerable work. As a licensed therapist, I have an extensive toolkit for skills and skill-based interventions that support you through behavioral changes, reducing anxiety, reworking relationships, and overcoming disordered behaviors. My true passion and skill lies in the deep work – helping you dig up the roots of your traumas, coping mechanisms, and attachments so that you can create greater meaning in your life while embracing more joy and self-compassion. It’s not easy but you can absolutely do it and I can help. I use a combination of trauma therapies, systems work, and somatic practices aligned with your unique needs to provide a deeply healing experience.
I deeply value authenticity, empathy, laughter, integrity, justice, and empowerment of others, which is what my therapeutic approach is rooted in. I am a systemic therapist and aim to acknowledge how every internal and external system impacts your experiences and the pain you come into session with. To do this and to live a values-aligned life I am regularly attending trainings, reading books, pursuing knowledge, and advocating for equality and justice. My formal modalities include Emotion Focused Therapy, Multigenerational Therapy, Health At Every Size and Fat Liberation, Anti-Oppression Frameworks, and a lot of Internal Family Systems Therapy. I believe our mental health is intimately connected with our bodies so I incorporate a variety of somatic techniques to further the change process when appropriate.
Get To Know Me
I am a white, queer, cis gendered woman. I am originally from Nashville and currently live in Seattle with my spouse and our two dogs (yes, we are those pet parents!). I lived in Georgia for three years while my spouse was in school and felt really connected with the community and my clients so I decided to work virtually instead of leaving completely. I enjoy spending my free time in so many ways, but this season of life I am finding myself spending more time outdoors, dancing, reading, having meaningful connections with my loved ones, snuggling with my pups, and playing all of the board games. I share these details because it is pivotal to our work for you to feel comfortable with me, research proves it! If I sound like your person, or if you have questions about us being a good fit please reach out to me at [email protected]. I would be honored to walk alongside you through your healing.
I offer a limited amount of reduced rate services for folks in marginalized communities who cannot comfortably afford to pay the full fee for services.
