In my everyday life I cherish meeting people, so in my practice I join clients where they are and walk beside them through the therapeutic journey. Working in medical facilities helped me truly understand what empathy looks like and how precious and pivotal these interactions can be when humans are in a vulnerable state. It is a privilege to be able to work with individuals and couples to navigate stressors such as past traumas, anxiety, depression, life experiences, grief, or whatever may bring them to reach out.
I strive to provide a safe environment for clients from different backgrounds, cultures, sexual identity, gender identity or expression. My primary approach to therapy is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I use mindfulness techniques supported by ACT to target negative thoughts and help clients embrace their strengths and build a personalized “tool belt” that help them cope in different situations. In my work with couples I use my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples find and restore a sense of deep intimate connection and closeness.
Outside of counseling I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three fur babies – Ellie, Leo, and Samson. We live for family cuddles and lazy Sundays. Often you can find me sitting on my porch swing, nose deep in a Stephen King novel or re-watching an episode of Schitt’s Creek when I am supposed to be doing laundry.
