As you read, I hope you find a moment of self-celebration for your courageous choice toward well-being. Whether you are new to therapy, or returning, welcome. Every person has a story that deserves to be heard and understood. While I am not here to solve life’s problem for you, I am here to listen, empower, and walk with you on your path towards purposeful change and peace of mind.

I specialize in assisting individuals navigating life changes and transitions, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, coping with shock-related grief and loss, and reducing the impact and effects of trauma and traumatic experiences. I have found great meaning and satisfaction in working with individuals across the lifespan. We will work together to help navigate life stressors and upsetting events to find your healing journey. Painful memories, or trauma whether physical or mental, are stressful, and they can become magnified through overwhelming anxiety, numbness, and depression. We will explore past and current wounds, life difficulties, and future desires to help build mind, body, and spiritual connections.

Never dismiss your feelings or deny yourself the right to be helped. When a painful event occurs, the information may become stored/stuck in the brain. This can sometimes create persistent intrusive memories or symptoms such as numbness, flashbacks, helplessness, panic attacks, and even physical pain. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that allows you to reengage in a distressing or traumatic event through the use of eye movements and present awareness to resolve what is leaving you feeling stuck- allowing the memory to become understood and managed. My hope is that through our work together you feel less stressed, more relaxed, and healthily connected to your body, with the capacity to feel joy and experience laughter.

I additionally use a blend of other therapy approaches such as Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. These will allow you to unpack, challenge, and transform unhelpful ways of thinking. We can begin to understand your life experiences, address struggles with more grace, and build resilience. My intention is to equip you with coping strategies and empower you.

Years of working with patients diagnosed with severe and sometimes terminal diseases and chronic illnesses, and also with survivors of physical abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect have created within me a joy and reverence for the sacredness of life. I enjoy planning my next traveling adventure, strumming along with old vinyls, laughing with friends and family, creating delicious meals, dancing with my dog, and of course enjoying my daily quiet time.
