I believe therapy should be a space where you are welcome to come as you are, without judgment, pressure, or expectation. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin. We can start where you are and move at a pace that feels supportive.
As a relational therapist, I care deeply about the connection we build together. I want to understand who you are, what matters to you, what you have been through, and where you hope to go. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, honest, and real, with room for both compassion and growth.
My approach is grounded in the relationship we build together and shaped by humanistic, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and trauma-informed perspectives. I practice integratively, which means our work is guided by your needs, goals, and pace. In our work together, we may spend time exploring your emotions, relationships, past experiences, and patterns, while also looking for practical ways to help you move through the challenges you are facing now. My goal is to help therapy feel meaningful, supportive, and useful to your real life.
I am especially drawn to helping clients better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. My style is welcoming, compassionate, and direct. I will meet you with care and curiosity, while also offering feedback and thoughtful challenge when it supports your growth.
Whether you are seeking clarity, feeling overwhelmed, navigating relationship or family challenges, working through painful past experiences, moving through a life transition, or finding yourself stuck in old patterns, I would be honored to join you in finding a greater sense of peace and connection as you move toward a more authentic and meaningful life.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, watching true crime, and tackling home repair projects.
Laura Mika is seeing clients in our Tucker Georgia office and is available to serve people throughout Georgia via telehealth. She is able to serve people as an in-network provider with most Kaiser Permanente, Anthem, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, Meritain, Ambetter and Alliant insurance.
