As you walk through the ups and downs of life – trauma, anxiety, new parenthood, or big transitions — it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, alone, or stuck in patterns that don’t serve who you truly are. You may be longing for relief, clarity, or simply a place to exhale. Therapy can offer that space and guidance — and I’m here to help.
I specialize in working with individuals navigating trauma, perinatal and postpartum challenges, life transitions, college stress, anxiety, depression, and substance-related challenges. My goal is to meet you where you are, gently uncover the roots of pain or overwhelm, and support you in reclaiming a sense of balance, strength, and self-compassion.
In our work together, I draw from a blend of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic work, and person-centered therapy — tailoring each session to your unique needs, pace, and comfort level. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion.
I believe deeply in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for healing — a place where trust, safety, and connection allow real change to unfold. Feeling truly seen and supported can be powerful, and together, we’ll create a relationship that helps you move toward growth and self-understanding.
When I’m not in session, I’m likely spending time with my husband and toddler, practicing yoga or pilates, working on a needlepoint project, or unwinding with a little reality TV. I believe in balance and I know firsthand how healing can begin when we tend to all parts of ourselves: body, mind, heart, spirituality, and life.
Lanie is seeing people in our Athens office and via telehealth throughout Georgia. She in-network with Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ambetter, United, Student Resources, (most) Oscar plans, most Kaiser Permanente plans, and Medicare.
